This year we are announcing some major changes at the birthplace of The Natural Step in Sweden. It is sometimes said that reinvention springs out of necessity and that is certainly true for us. Earlier this year, Det Naturliga Steget AB, the company hosting our Swedish office’s activities, was closed due to financial difficulties. Now, after a period of exploration a new entity has taken shape to carry on under a new name – Sustain in Time.

After a successful membership application process we invited Martin Malmros (third from right) to our annual meeting in Lisbon, to sign the membership contract of Sustain in Time Global AB.

In September 2017, The Natural Step International Council with representation from all our offices in 10 countries unanimously approved Sustain in Time Global AB as a new institutional member and authorized representative of The Natural Step. Under the leadership of CEO Martin Malmros, Sustain in Time is structured as a BCorp (certification pending) focussed on using business as a force to solve social and environmental challenges.

Sustain in Time will be working to digitalize our knowledge of sustainability in an online platform to help organizations thrive through an unprecedented era of global change. Some of The Natural Step’s most experienced and long-serving advisors are part of the team and they are highly appreciated contributors and close colleagues to our global network.

“Sustain In Time is building on the legacy of one of the world’s oldest sustainability advisory organisations, Det Naturliga Steget. After nearly 30 years we all in The Natural Step are renewing ourselves with a new strategy. We will continue using the same scientific methodology that has been our hallmark over the years and we will still offer world class advisory services. Here in Sweden we are proud of our heritage and achievements, but to succeed with the transition to a sustainable society we are convinced that the rate of change has to increase. This is why we are going digital. To reach sustainability in time”.

Martin Malmros. CEO, Sustain in Time

I invite you to get in contact with Martin and his team to learn more about their plans and to join forces with our network. We are focussed on the goal and realize that time is of the essence!

Sincerely
