What is the Circular Textile Lab?
There is growing recognition that addressing complex sustainability challenges requires unprecedented collaboration and new ways of working across sectors and across scales.

The announcement was made during Shanghai Design Week by our TNS China Executive Director, Patrik Sandin (left), Paul Iglesia from Wetas and TNS China Lab Director, Lin Zhang (right).
The Circular Textile Lab is an approach to tackling these complex social and environmental challenges in the wider textile industry. It blends The Natural Steps’ expertise in designing and facilitating transformational change towards sustainability with leading approaches to multi-stakeholder collaboration.
The lab process is intended to tackle “wicked” sustainability challenges and create breakthrough solutions by learning to think, work, and innovate together differently.
The lab will build on and expand already existing post-consumer recycling initiatives by leading players, expand the circular initiatives to pre-consumer waste and explore ways to reduce any barriers to mainstreaming these solutions across all relevant stakeholder groups.
